Born and raised in Comox, Ken Grant has spent more than 20 years serving the community he is proud to call home. Through his work as a Comox Councillor and as a Director with the Comox Valley Regional District, Ken has built a reputation for working collaboratively, listening carefully, and finding practical solutions.


Ken believes good local government is about putting the community first. He takes a balanced, common-sense approach to decision-making, with a focus on maintaining Comox’s parks, improving community safety, and ensuring responsible management of taxpayer dollars.


An active member of the community, Ken enjoys the outdoors and is an avid golfer. After more than two decades of public service, he remains committed to working hard for Comox and helping build a strong, vibrant community for the future.

What I will continue to advocate for:

  • Strive to keep taxes in line with household incomes
  • Continue to enhance recreational opportunities
  • Look after our infrastructure to mitigate tax spikes
  • Reduce our effects on climate change via municipal best practices

 Delivered Newson Park and advanced plans for Lazo Park while minimizing taxpayer costs. Completed the Lazo Greenway, expanded electric vehicle charging and cycling infrastructure, and strengthened curbside recycling, yard and kitchen waste collection. Introduced a Tree Bylaw and upgraded municipal buildings to meet current environmental standards, improving sustainability across Comox.

 Secured more than $30 million in grants over four years, reducing the burden on local taxpayers. Advanced the new Comox Fire Hall, revitalized Marina Park and downtown, and supported the transformation of Comox Mall. Completed the Lazo Walkway and regional connections, while investing in roads, sidewalks, and essential water and sewer infrastructure.

For more than 22 years, I’ve championed investment in Comox’s parks and recreation facilities—from improvements at the Comox Recreation Centre to the Disc Golf Park, Pickleball Courts, Marina Water Park, and Music in the Park. I also supported the new pop-up parks that brought energy and visitors to our community. I’m proud of our regional parks and recently helped approve a new nature park, with another on the way.

We introduced an asset management plan to help reduce the impact of unforseen tax burdens. The next term will require disciplined budgeting to keep taxes in line with local incomes. Rising police costs, inflation and increasing costs downloaded from senior governments will put pressure on every tax dollar.
